At Spice Port (operated by BIJU THOMAS under the registered trade name SPICEPORT), we harvest, grind, and pack our premium single-origin spices and teas to order. To preserve the volatile essential oils, volatile aromas, and freshness of our botanicals, we utilize specialized protective packaging and partner with express courier networks to deliver products directly from our Anakkara, Kerala estate to your kitchen.
1. Processing Timelines
Because we strive for maximum freshness, many of our spices are packaged or milled in small batches upon order receipt.
- Standard order processing time is 1 to 2 business days.
- Orders placed on Sundays or major public holidays will be processed on the next business day.
- During peak holiday seasons or promotional events, processing may take up to 3 business days. We will notify you via email if there are any significant delays.
2. Delivery Timelines
Once dispatched from our estate in Anakkara, Kerala, delivery timelines depend on your location:
- Metropolitan Cities (e.g. Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai): 3 to 5 business days.
- Rest of India (Tier 2/3 cities and towns): 4 to 7 business days.
- Remote Regions: 6 to 9 business days.
Note: Weather conditions, political issues, or public holidays can occasionally cause minor delays beyond our estimated delivery windows.
3. Shipping Rates and Free Delivery
Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on the weight of your order and shipping address.
- Standard Shipping: A flat fee applies to orders depending on location and order size. The exact rate will be calculated on the checkout page before payment.
- Free Shipping: We offer free standard shipping on orders exceeding a minimum purchase threshold (as displayed on our storefront banner or checkout page).
4. Carrier Partners and Packaging
To protect our whole buds, delicate leaves, and freshly ground powders from heat and moisture during transit:
- We ship all spice jars in custom insulated, shock-absorbent packages.
- We partner with premium, reliable express courier companies (including BlueDart, Delhivery, and DTDC) to ensure professional handling.
5. Order Tracking
Once your order is handed over to the courier partner, we will send a dispatch confirmation email containing your tracking number and a link to trace the parcel. You can also view the status of your shipment under the "Orders" section of your customer account dashboard.
6. Delivery Attempts and Address Correction
Our courier partners will attempt delivery up to 3 times before returning the parcel to our estate. It is the customer's responsibility to provide accurate delivery addresses and contact phone numbers. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address or unavailable recipient, reshipping charges may apply.
